Known by different appellations - such as ‘Father of Many Nations’, ‘Father of Faith’, and ‘Friend of God’ - Abraham is second only to Jesus Christ as the most admired biblical figure. After all, he is the only one in the bible (besides God himself) who did not hesitate to offer his own son as a sacrifice when God commanded him to. This movie recreates - in the language of the time for greater realism and with English subtitles much like the Passion of the Christ - the early life of this great patriarch, his battle with Nimrod and his idols, his marriage to Sarah, the births of Ishmael and Isaac, and God’s extreme demand for Isaac’s blood as a mean to test Abraham’s faith.
“For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise of no effect… Therefore it is of faith… the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all – as it is written, “I have made you a father of Many Nations”. ----Romans 4: 13-17
